What the API returns

A clear answer to “Where is this?”

Choose the fields your interface needs. The response separates the readable label from the individual geographic details behind it.

Place label

A display-ready label assembled from the available neighborhood or locality, city, region and country.

Geographic context

Country, state or province, city and named neighborhood where the data supports them.

Nearby locality

A matched or nearby city, town, village or hamlet, with its place type and distance in metres.

Street context

A nearby named road and intersection, plus intersection distance, when a suitable feature is found.

Aerial view of homes, autumn trees and a city skyline
Give each map point the place context people need to understand it.

Built for location-first experiences

Put the place beside the pin.

A coordinate is useful to software; a place name is useful to people. Add a readable label and location details where they help visitors decide what to explore next.

Property listings

Show a recognizable location above the area details, even when a visitor starts from a map coordinate.

Map and search results

Label map pins and result cards with the available neighborhood, city and region.

Local data experiences

Pair a location label with nearby places, demographics or community highlights from other Proximitii APIs.

Straightforward to integrate

One coordinate pair. A readable result.

Send latitude and longitude from your backend. The API infers the country for supported US and Canadian coordinates and returns structured JSON. No radius or country parameter is needed. Geographic features can be absent, so allow optional fields to be null.
